Kitty McScratch has done something that most gamers have only dreamed of and few have ever accomplished, she was featured in both the Guinness Book of World Records AND the Guinness Book of World Records: Gamers Edition for 2013!
For the 2011 Guinness Book of World Records, Kitty was mentioned for her score on Dare by Gorillaz on Just Dance, that she set at the 2010 Big Bang in her home town of Ottumwa, Iowa. This was the very first world record that she had ever set! Seeing this motivated her to start submitting more world records, and by the time Guinness was compiling scores for their 2012 book, she had more than 85 verified world records! This prompted Guinness to name her “The Most Prolific Dancing Game High Scorer” in the 2012 Guinness Book of World Records: Gamers Edition! At this time, Guinness decided to fly Kitty out to L.A. for a photo shoot to use to publicize their book. The resulting photo was featured in dozens and dozens of news releases all over the world! (many are linked on the media page)
While being in the 2013 Gamers Edition was not a shock, finding out that she was in the main Guinness Book of World Records was, as Guinness had only mentioned using the photo for the Gamers Edition. “I randomly saw the book on the shelf at a store while doing some Black Friday shopping with my mother-in-law. As I was flipping through the pages while waiting in the check out line, I saw the picture from the photo shoot. I couldn’t believe it! I was so excited!” said Kitty.
