On March 3rd through the 4th of 2012, Kitty McScratch, will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for “The Longest Video Games Marathon Playing A Motion-Sensing Dance Game” by playing Dance Central 2 on Xbox 360. The current record is 16 hrs 21 min 44 sec and was achieved by Christopher Lawrence (Phillipines) who played Dance Central 2 (Harmonix, 2011) at the Mall of the Emirates, Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on 16 December 2011. Kitty is setting a goal to play Dance Central 2 for 24 hours during the event. The event will be open to the public at the Music Union Hall, located in the Green Street Hall Mall at 116 North Green Street in downtown Ottumwa, Iowa. It will also be streamed live on the home page and live stream sections of www.KittyMcScratch.com so that anyone around the world can be able to participate in the chat room and cheer her on.

Kitty is also using this opportunity to raise money for the Child’s Play Organization. Child’s Play is a game industry charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with toys and games in their network of over 70 hospitals worldwide. All donations during this event will be taken through a ChipIn widget, which tracks donations in real time while sending those funds directly to the organization. You can donate anytime from now though the event by using the widget located on the right sidebar of this website. Kitty is encouraging people to donate either a lump sum or to make a pledge to donate a set amount for each hour played. Pledges can be made in the comment section below.
